Beta 57

1 Nov 2026
DESKTOP

Orbit now runs as its own desktop app instead of inside an Edge window: faster start, no browser picker when sharing your screen (pick a window or screen from Orbit's own menu, with system audio), Ctrl+Alt+Esc stops screen control from anywhere, notification and invite links open the right place, and the window remembers where you left it. Updates close Orbit cleanly before installing.

Messaging: text appears instantly while a new DM opens, sends use one idempotent client ID, and rapid repeat submits are blocked. AI replies keep one animation when saved history replaces the streaming version. AI chat: each Orbit response now includes a compact latency breakdown for context preparation, first visible token, model rounds, tools, and total processing. Duplicate sends are guarded while Orbit is responding. Messages: a right-hand Studiomates list with avatars, creative roles, Online/Offline groups and live presence. The list opens by default on desktop, supports search and one-click direct messages, and becomes a keyboard-accessible drawer on smaller screens. Private channels, DMs and groups show only people with access. Includes the beta.34 security and reliability fixes. AI: meaningful conversation titles, contextual reply suggestions and temporary questions/drafts excluded from Orbit history and memory. Voice messages: custom Orbit waveform player with seeking and playback speed; redesigned recorder with live microphone waveform, preview, optional text context and safe discard. Channels: create private text and voice channels with explicit member selection; uninvited members cannot view or join private rooms. Studiomates now shows creative titles and presence without Owner/Admin access badges. Messages UI: approved compact text and voice channel lists above larger DM previews, cleaner message bubbles and composer, and a voice join popup. Voice avatars remain still when silent and animate only during speech; reduced motion is respected. Profiles: real Settings appearance editor with original animated GIF uploads, shared name fonts, colors and effects. Animations autoplay by default with an optional hover-only preference; voice avatars animate only during speech. Profile images are stored privately for authorized studio peers. Analytics: Projects, Payments and Expenses now include weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly charts, previous-period comparisons, line/bar and dither controls, keyboard details and data tables. Uses actual booked dates, payment dates and expense dates. Undated records are disclosed, future periods are not fabricated, and restricted financial data stays hidden. Messages: match the approved exploration with a narrow workspace icon rail, conversation search and All/Unread tabs, charcoal surfaces, compact conversation tools, workspace/profile headers, channel details and shared-file/pin access. Voice channels stay above larger direct-message rows; uses real conversations and permissions. Delivery: simpler upload panel and searchable file/version library with grid/list views, delivery and version filters, clear destination and progress, review/copy/folder actions, and confirmed deletion. Naming controls, recipients, export monitoring and storage remain available in expandable sections. Existing direct Frame.io uploads and large-file support are preserved. Planning: approved two-day Reminders board and Calendar week/day timeline with mini month, project filters, quick add, completion/Undo, editing and drag rescheduling. Uses real private reminders and focus sessions, plus accessible production dates; no demo data. Reminder times, project association, duration and notes survive saves. Deletion requires confirmation. Navigation: Messages keeps the familiar workspace sidebar partially tucked away and expands it on hover or keyboard focus without shifting the chat. Reduced motion is respected. Fixes reminder metadata being rejected as invalid workspace preferences. Navigation motion: collapsed Messages navigation displays only icons; labels fade out before narrowing and return after expansion. Hover and keyboard focus reveal the full sidebar without moving chat. Navigation: clicking Messages no longer leaves the sidebar expanded after the pointer leaves. Keyboard-visible focus still expands navigation for keyboard users. Creative studio: approved clean Goals cards with manual targets, checklists and dated record progress; open Creative Boards canvas with images/video/GIFs, notes, links, swatches, drawing, connections, drag/resize and undo/redo. Existing references preserved. Owners can delete boards with the same five-second cancel countdown as chats. Project and delivery files stay untouched. Home: approved task/media layout above compact Projects, Payments and Studio online panels. Payment chart uses actual dated receipts with monthly/quarterly/yearly filters, current outstanding balances and financial access checks. Studio presence shows real member statuses, roles, avatars and messaging shortcuts. Currency cents have a clear gap and normal spacing. Distribution: fresh Windows installations include the public GIPHY browser configuration. Studio AI remains server-held and requires studio membership; personal Frame.io credentials and local account sessions are never packaged. Creative production: per-client font/logo/LUT/spec lockers; treatment-to-shotlist AI drafts with references, assignees and statuses; automatic background Smart Cover scanning with technical filtering and AI subject/composition ranking; natural-language Poly Haven/Sketchfab model search with source licensing and geometry details; Openverse visual reference search; editable AI pitch decks using briefs, reference PDFs and moodboards with Worldsend portfolio selections and PDF export; before/after frame wipes. Uses the existing private studio AI connection. Worldsend portfolio catalog included; Cloudforge remains unconnected pending a source link. Comparison media and cover suggestions are cached locally; originals stay untouched. Rebuilt the World’s End pitch template around the supplied Canva reference: oversized white headings, subtle black film grain, service-led portfolio spreads, clickable film thumbnails, editable scope and four-column investment cards. Matching in-app preview and PDF export; no preset client fees or commitments. Ask Orbit: preserve the live message row and animation timestamp when saved history replaces a streamed reply, preventing the response from replaying. Duplicate form submits remain locked while a reply is in progress. Workspace settings: searchable studio chooser, clear active workspace, expandable creation form and cleaner member list. Creative navigation: Production tools is now directly available in the sidebar, with an accessible-project picker and direct shortcuts to branding, shotlists, Smart Cover, model search, pitch decks, visual search and comparisons. Shotlist references: automatic real-reference API searches; up to eight in-card thumbnail choices; saved sources, titles and credits; Replace and Find similar. Modular personal provider switches and encrypted keys for FrameThrower and YouTube; Commons and Openverse need no key. FrameThrower visual similarity uses the selected frame; public-source fallback is explicitly metadata based. No scraping, rehosting or automatic AI image generation. Image generation remains unconnected. Source rate limits, partial failures and duplicate results are handled; expired video API metadata is removed on load/save.

Messages UI: approved compact text and voice channel lists above larger DM previews, cleaner message bubbles and composer, and a voice join popup. Voice avatars remain still when silent and animate only during speech; reduced motion is respected. Profiles: real Settings appearance editor with original animated GIF uploads, shared name fonts, colors and effects. Animations autoplay by default with an optional hover-only preference; voice avatars animate only during speech. Profile images are stored privately for authorized studio peers. Analytics: Projects, Payments and Expenses now include weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly charts, previous-period comparisons, line/bar and dither controls, keyboard details and data tables. Uses actual booked dates, payment dates and expense dates. Undated records are disclosed, future periods are not fabricated, and restricted financial data stays hidden. Messages: match the approved exploration with a narrow workspace icon rail, conversation search and All/Unread tabs, charcoal surfaces, compact conversation tools, workspace/profile headers, channel details and shared-file/pin access. Voice channels stay above larger direct-message rows; uses real conversations and permissions. Delivery: simpler upload panel and searchable file/version library with grid/list views, delivery and version filters, clear destination and progress, review/copy/folder actions, and confirmed deletion. Naming controls, recipients, export monitoring and storage remain available in expandable sections. Existing direct Frame.io uploads and large-file support are preserved. Planning: approved two-day Reminders board and Calendar week/day timeline with mini month, project filters, quick add, completion/Undo, editing and drag rescheduling. Uses real private reminders and focus sessions, plus accessible production dates; no demo data. Reminder times, project association, duration and notes survive saves. Deletion requires confirmation. Navigation: Messages keeps the familiar workspace sidebar partially tucked away and expands it on hover or keyboard focus without shifting the chat. Reduced motion is respected. Fixes reminder metadata being rejected as invalid workspace preferences. Navigation motion: collapsed Messages navigation displays only icons; labels fade out before narrowing and return after expansion. Hover and keyboard focus reveal the full sidebar without moving chat. Navigation: clicking Messages no longer leaves the sidebar expanded after the pointer leaves. Keyboard-visible focus still expands navigation for keyboard users.

Frame.io connection repair: Adobe confidential-client authentication, identifiable Orbit API requests, and clear sanitized sign-in errors. Expanded searchable emoji catalogue with categories and skin tones; paste any emoji or upload a custom PNG/JPG/WebP/GIF chat icon; shared icons retain existing chat permissions. Chat management polish: aligned delete confirmation controls, case-preserving chat names, and permission-checked chat renaming with optional emoji from the channel hover gear. Editor popouts are isolated from sidebar layout styles. Global Studio Search across permitted studio sources; Project Brain with original-source citations, private summaries, explicit project memory and document indexing; opt-in Desktop Agent with persistent export-folder rules, stable-render detection, version naming and streamed Frame.io delivery. Frame.io uploads require a connected, verified destination. Retains the approved Home, chat search/moderation, motion and existing studio privacy. Private local desktop update; no public release. Organized Frame.io deliveries: remembered deliverable/version folders, batched assets, explicit project visibility for plan compatibility, direct-upload/playback destinations, and visible connection status. Desktop Agent uses the same folder/version allocator. Verified with disposable real Frame.io uploads and removed only the test project. Project identity tiles: stable varied symbols/colors, optional emoji or uploaded thumbnail, and remembered choices across Home and Projects. Default performer photography is replaced by project icons in covers, previews, creation and empty showcase media. Explicit custom media stays available. Delivery file selection uses a direct accessible button with drag-and-drop; system Edge launches with a clean DLL environment for Windows dialogs. Automatic Frame.io review notes: discover delivery versions without manual import or FPS setup, refresh notes and replies every 15 seconds while open, preserve exact source timecodes and Orbit annotations, surface connection errors, and open Frame deliveries directly in the review room. Project file/version deletion from file cards, previews and review rooms, with confirmation, owner/editor permissions, optional Frame.io file deletion, managed-byte cleanup, and remembered exclusions so retained external copies are not reimported by automatic notes sync. Screen-share controls: opaque accessible quality popover with compact FPS/resolution controls and viewport-aware placement. Voice rooms include session-only text chat over a separate WebRTC data channel, without requiring a microphone. The browser picker prefers Window capture and excludes Orbit’s own browser surface; Edge still owns its picker categories.
